Where does Social Studies currently deliver?

We ship nationwide.

How far ahead should I place my order?

Due to shipping delays we have extended our order dates to best serve our customers. Subject to availability, your products may be ordered up to fourteen (14) days ahead of your requested delivery date. Orders received within fourteen (14) days of your desired delivery dates are subject to the approval of Social Studies and cannot be guaranteed.

How much does Social Studies cost per guest?

Our Looks vary in pricing from $30 to $50 per person.

Do you charge a delivery fee?

There is a scaled delivery fee based on your location.

I really like to entertain. Can I order for more than one party at the same time?

Each individual party must be placed as a separate order.

How do I make changes to an existing order?

Once an order is placed, we consider it final. But we don’t want to be total party poopers. To request a change, please email [email protected] and we’ll review it on a case-by-case basis.

What can I expect when my order arrives?

You’ll receive a custom case filled with 4 place settings (plus 1 extra in case of breakage). If you have 8 guests, you’ll get 2 cases. Etc.

I’m ordering for a party of 4. Why did I get 5 place settings?

Because accidents happen—in transit and otherwise—and we want to make sure you’re covered.

What payment methods does Social Studies accept?

Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover. We also accept PayPal and Affirm.

What condition will the product be in when I receive it?

While the product is not always new, it is always professionally handled, cleaned, sanitized, and packed by our white-glove professional packers to maintain a like-new condition.

How are your products cleaned?

Each item is cleaned and sanitized using restaurant industry standard detergent with state of the art appliances both upon return and prior to going out for delivery.

I selected custom menus and/or place cards. How will you know who is coming and what deliciousness they’ll be served?

Once you have placed your order, you will be contacted by our team at [email protected] to confirm your details. We request that all details are finalized no later than 7 days prior to your event.

What if my guests and/or menu changes at the last minute?

We are unfortunately unable to accommodate any changes after the 7-day cutoff. This is the perfect time to make use of the additional blank place cards and menus included in your Look!

Ocassion Boxes

What is an Occasion Box?

All the extras to celebrate any occasion! (Think balloons, customizable banners, and more.)

What color are the Occasion Box contents?

Occasion Boxes are available in silver or gold. We select the color based on how it will coordinate best with your Look.

How many Occasion Boxes will I need?

Each Occasion Box accommodates a party of 32 people.

Can I rent an Occasion Box?

Unfortunately, no. These are exclusively for purchase.

Are Occasion Boxes returnable?

They’re all for you, and are therefore final sale. Party on!

Will my Occasion Box be delivered with my Look?

Yes!

How do I fill my balloons?

Many of our balloons are best when up blown by mouth. If that’s not your speed, we suggest getting a helium tank, which can be found at your local party supply store (or Amazon).

Can I buy an Occasion Box without renting a party Look?

Yes.

Flair

What is Flair?

It’s all the fun extras we’ve curated from our favorite vendors that ensure your party is personalized and memorable. May we also note that many of them make perfect party favors?

Can I rent Flair items?

Unfortunately, no. They are just for purchase.

Are Flair items returnable?

They’re all for you and are therefore final sale. Party on!

Will my Flair items arrive with my Look?

Yes.

Can I buy Flair items without renting a party Look?

Yes.

Flowers

How do I arrange my flowers?

Each Flower Box contains detailed instructions on how to handle and arrange your flowers for each look.

My flowers arrived and look different than I expected.

We select the freshest in-season flowers available. From time to time, there may be variations in what you receive. Don’t worry: They’ll be perfectly paired with your Look! We’re obsessed with details like this.

My flowers arrived and they look like they’ve been on a red-eye. What do I do?

Well, they most likely have! If they don’t look as fresh as a daisy (or ranunculus), give them a drink of cold water. Use a sharp knife, scissors, or floral clippers to give each stem a fresh cut, slicing at a sharp angle to make them last longer. Let them soak up some water for as long as possible (24 hours is best), and they should perk up! Not doing it? Email us at [email protected] and we’ll get right back to you with more tips.

Delivery

How are deliveries scheduled?

Our delivery windows are 1-2 days prior to your party. You will receive your delivery window 5 days before your event.

Do I need to be home for a delivery?

Since all Social Studies deliveries require a signature, someone must be home to receive the order. (Doormen count!)

Do you deliver on weekends and holidays?

We deliver and pick up Monday through Saturday. Holidays are on a case-by-case basis (no pun intended). Saturday parties will be picked up on Monday.

Pickup

How are pickups scheduled?

Our pickups are scheduled for the day after your event. You will receive your pickup window upon order confirmation. Saturday parties will be picked up on Monday.

How can I change a pickup?

Can I extend my rental?

Please email [email protected] to coordinate a potential re-rental.

Do I need to be home for pickup?

Social Studies kits should not be left outside. Someone should be home for the handoff (pickups from doormen are also acceptable).

How do I prepare for my pickup?

Each item comes in clearly labeled, custom-designed packaging. When you unpack, be sure to save the packaging for a seamless re-packing experience. Please give the plates and silverware a quick rinse so food doesn’t stick!

How does Social Studies clean rentals?

We use Energy Star-rated commercial dishwashers to clean our hard goods at a high temperature to ensure proper sanitization and minimal water waste. Our linens are laundered and dry cleaned by industry professionals using eco-friendly, hypoallergenic detergents.

What am I supposed to keep from my rental, and what do I return?

Each Look comes with a detailed packing list so you can check off which items need to be returned and what items you get to keep.

I fell in love with some of the items in my rental. Can I purchase them?

Not at this time. Please check back!

Can I keep the Social Studies shipping case?!

If the carrying case is not returned, you will be charged a $300 fee for lost return packaging.

It’s the morning after, and a few items have gone missing. What do I do?

If you return a product damaged beyond normal wear and tear, you will be charged for the price of repairing or replacing the product, as determined by our discretion, up to the retail value of the product.

Cancelling

How do I cancel my order?

Contact us at [email protected] You may cancel your rental order subject to the following cancellation fees and policies: — If you cancel thirty (30) or more days in advance of the delivery date, there is no cancellation fee and you will receive a full refund issued to the payment card. — If you cancel less than thirty (30) days but more than fourteen (14) days in advance of the delivery date, you will not receive any refund, but you will receive a promo code that may be applied toward any future rental. — If you cancel fourteen (14) or fewer days in advance of your delivery date, you will not receive a refund, but you will receive a promo code, minus a 10% restocking fee, that may be applied toward any future rental. — If you cancel within seven (7) days in advance of your delivery date, you will forfeit the order amount and be charged a cancellation fee.

How are refunds processed?

If you cancel thirty (30) or more days in advance of the delivery date, there is no cancellation fee and you will receive a full refund issued to the payment card. Please allow 5 business days to process.
